HBO adapts bestseller The Vanishing Half from Brit Bennett into series

The bestseller The Vanishing Half will be adapted into a limited series by HBO. The network has recently gained the distribution rights for a show based on the book. Supposedly, seventeen different parties were interested in acquiring the distribution rights to The Vanishing Half, a novel that was written by Brit Bennett. HBO won at the end and will adapt the book into a limited series. It is rumoured that HBO paid an amount with six zeroes.

The Vanishing Half tells more than the modern racial issues. It takes into account the lasting impact of the past, as the decisions, desires and expectations mould a person. The story revolves around two twin Vignes twin sisters, who both grew up in a small, southern black community and ran away from their house when they were sixteen. They now lead completely different lives, but their fates are still intertwined.
