Mexican Gothic from Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos in production at Hulu

Hulu is developing a new series called Mexican Gothic. It is based on the thriller novel with the same name by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. The series comes from Kelly Ripa (American Housewife) and Mark Consuelos' (Riverdale) Miljojo Productions and ABC Signature. Miljojo Productions acquired the rights of the book after a competitive bidding war. “We feel like we hit the literary jackpot, and cannot wait to bring Silvia’s gorgeous writing to life, together with Hulu,” Ripa said. A week ago, Ripa released a hint about the upcoming series. She told her followers to read the book.

The story follows Noemí Taboada, who travels to the Mexican countryside and the Hidalgo mountains in order to save her cousin after she received a strange letter.
Noemí tries to reveal the menacing secrets of her cousin's in-laws.
