Showtime orders Moonbase 8, which features Fred Armisen, John C. Reilly and Tim Heidecker

Showtime has ordered the comedy series Moonbase 8. Fred Armisen, John C. Reilly and Tim Heidecker will portray the lead characters. Moonbase 8 follows three subpar astronauts who live in the moon landing simulator of Nasa and hope to be chosen to travel to the moon. It is expected that this series will premiere in the upcoming Fall season, but no specific date has been revealed as of yet.

The series comes from Fred Armisen (Portlandia), Jonathan Krisel (Portlandia), Tim Heidecker (Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!) and John C. Reilly (Check It Out! With Dr. Steve Brule). Reilly, Heidecker and Armisen will also portray the lead characters in the series.
