CBS orders United States of Al

CBS orders United States of Al

CBS has ordered a series that is based on the comedy pilot United States of Al. It comes from the minds of Chuck Lorre (Young Sheldon), David Goetsch and Maria Ferrari.
The intention is that the series will air in the 2020-2021 season. But due to the coronavirus, this can still change. United States of Al revolves around the friendship between Riley (Parker Young, Imposters) and Awalmir (Adhir Kalyan, Second Chance (2016)). Riley is a navy veteran and tries to adapt to the life of a normal citizen. Awalmir once served as a translator for his unit in Afghanistan and will start a new life in the US.

The series comes from Chuck Lorre (Young Sheldon), David Goetsch (The Big Bang Theory) and Maria Ferrari (The Big Bang Theory). Goetsch and Ferrari serve as the writers of the series. It'll be Lorre's fifth series to air at CBS. Previously he created Young Sheldon and Mom, just to name a few. Next to the pilot for United States of Al, the network also had a pilot for B Positive. Both pilots have been turned into a series order. B Positive was the first and only pilot to be finished before the lockdown.
