Stephen King's The Jaunt to be adapted into new series

MRC Television has signed a deal with Dave Erickson. He will produce the series.
The deal means that Dave Erickson will be producing and creating television series for MRC Television in the upcoming years. He will be serving as writer and showrunner, of which the latter is going to be his most important role. Next to that, he'll monitor the other writers and help when required.

As part of the deal, Dave will be developing The Jaunt. It is a short story, which was written by Stephen King. It was created in 1981. This horror-science fiction takes place in the 24th century, which is when teleportation is considered to be normal. Through teleportation, vast distances are crossed. It is even possible to teleport to other planets within our solar system. Teleportation is also called "jaunting", which explains the title.

Elise Henderson (president of MRC Television) has revealed that she is rejoiced to welcome Erickson to the company. She also mentioned admiring Erickson's creativity. She thinks that he is a suitable candidate for building on top of the work of Stephen King.

By joining MRC Television, Erickson joins a creative group of writers. Cynthia Erivo, Richard Price, Jessie Nickson-Lopez (The Outsider (2020)), Julia Garner and Chris Mundy (Ozark) are also part of MRC Television.

Erickson isn't without experience. He has also been part of Fear The Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy, Canterbury's Law and Marco Polo, amongst others. Next to that, he served as executive producer of Shantaram, a new Apple TV+ drama.

For now, Erickson will not be bored. Hulu's The Great season two, Netflix' Ozark season four, Amazon's The Terminal List and the upcoming Apple TV+ series Shining Girls and The Shrink Next Door are all produced by MRC Television.
