HBO has contracted Dwayne Johnson (‘Clash Time’) for the new TV-series ‘Ballers’. The Rock will play the role of a former American football player who lost his way a bit. The Rock will co-produce together with Mark Wahlberg.
Wahlberg, who played with The Rock in ‘Pain & Gain’, will have no part in the series ‘Ballers’. Denzel Washington's son, John David, will play an athlete with a rather spiritual side. Among the actors are Rob Corddry (Childern’s Hospital), Omar Benson Miller (CSI: Miami) and Troy Garity (Boss) will play a part in the series ‘Ballers’.
For now the plot will be about downhill athletes who are trying to start a second carrier, a reporter of sports channel ESPN that has an affair, and a financial adviser who is trying very hard to fit in. When ‘Ballers' will air is not yet known.
