Jude Law will probably have a main role in upcoming Showtime series The Auteur

Showtime is possibly negotiating with Jude Law about a leading role in The Auteur, a series written by Taika Waititi (The Mandalorian) and Peter Warren (Happyland). The Auteur is based on the comic book series by Rick Spears. Jude Law, currently starring in the second season of the HBO series The New Pope, is said to not only become executive producer, but will also play the lead role in the series. In addition to writing the series, Waititi will also direct a number of episodes. Eric Glitter from Closed on Mondays has also been named as the executive producer of the series. The project comes from Endeavor Content and Legendary Television.

It is assumed that the series, which is told from the point of view of an eccentric author, will become a satire on Hollywood. When the production of the series starts and how many episodes will be made is not yet known. Showtime has not yet responded to any of the rumours surrounding this series.
