Best non-English language series of 2018
Let's kick off with the newest category of this year. It was quite easy to see who would win the race. The Bridge (2011) soon left its competitors behind! It was a lot more interesting to see who would end up in second place, which eventually turned out to be The Rain.

In some series the acting is bad, the story isn't that great or it's predictable. Nonetheless, these shows can be great to watch and those type of shows were the ones we needed for this category. The renowned lawyer show Suits ended up in first place, closely followed by the doctors of Grey's Anatomy.

Binge-watching. We. All. Love. It. But not every show can be binge-watched. For this category we were looking for the best shows, which also had the requirement of being possible to binge-watch. The teens of The 100 won this round. It is followed by the devil, Lucifer, and a bunch of ghosts, The Haunting of Hill House.

This may have been the most exciting part of the awards of this year. The major shows made it incredibly difficult for each other. But it turns out that, according to you, The Simpsons narrowly beats Family Guy or South Park.

Best Mini and anthology series of 2018
Mini and anthology series often provide writers the chance with creating something phenomenal, without creating a lot of filler episodes. The most special series are often part of this category. The surprising winner is: Safe (not really a surprise if you look at the amount of votes). Just behind that we've got American Horror Story and American Crime story rounding off the top three.

Best Dutch/Flemish series of 2018
This is the category where the winner won with the highest percentage out of all the categories. With an astounding 41% of the votes, 'De Luizenmoeder' has reached the #1 spot. After that we've got Mocro Maffia and KLEM. Juf Ank & co isn't just watched by a lot of people, it is also the best Dutch show of 2018. Unfortunately the Flemish shows didn't do as well. The best out of those is De Dag, which received only 61 votes.

This year it was removed from the comedy genre, but it is clearly the victor here. Lucifer remains incredibly popular and I think that there are a lot of people waiting for the 4th season to appear on Netflix. Ozark has ended up in second place, which is quite an achievement.

Best superhero series of 2018
With CW's Batwoman coming soon, The Umbrella Company on Netflix and apparently shows revolving around Loki and other characters on Disney+, it appears that the superhero genre is far from dead. Arrow, the winner of the last three years, hasn't been nominated and thus a different show will take the throne. Surprisingly enough that is The Flash (2014). At the number two spot we find Gotham and number three is Daredevil (But Supergirl at the 5th place says a lot about the quality of this list).
Funnily enough the wild card with the most votes in this category was Arrow with 42 votes! This would've ensured a 10th spot for the show on the official list

If you would've asked me beforehand which show I thought would win, I would've said Westworld without any hesitation. Boy, was I wrong. The 100 has won another trophy this year. Following far behind we've got The Handmaids Tale in 2nd place and then we have Westworld in 3rd place. This means one thing, the voters of MySeries can be quite surprising.

In this category we've got another big surprise! After Lucifer was no longer seen as a comedy, I would've expected that maybe The Big Bang Theory or Modern Family would reach the number 1 spot. Turns out it didn't. As a complete underdog, De Luizenmoeder has won its 2nd trophy. Bye, bye, bye, bye Big Bang Theory (in my head this matched the song sang by Juf Ank).

Honestly, this is the result I can get the most excited about, but naturally I'm not going to write that down. The winner is The Originals, followed by Once Upon a Time.

Most disappointing series of 2018
It's not really a good thing to win this category. Nonetheless, there is one show which seems to end up in here every year. We're talking about The Walking Dead and it has 'won' once again. It is surprising though that Once Upon a Time is also on this list (as it was 2nd best ended series) with 182 votes. Make up your mind people.

This was so exciting! At first Killing Eve was the surprising number one, but then it eventually ended in 5th place. The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and The Haunting of Hill House also received a lot of votes. But, Bodyguard eventually ended up with most votes and has won the trophy for best new series of 2018.

And then finally the one trophy it's all about. This is the first year without Game of Thrones, so we were looking forward to see who would win this year. But we've saved the biggest surprise for the end. People who've read properly will know that there is one more show that has won two trophies. The winner of this year is Bodyguard! Winning both the 'best new series' and 'best series of the year' awards is quite an achievement. Congratulations!
