Several Streamz Originals nominated for the Ensors 2024

Streamz has acquired a total of 33 nominations for their series this year. The Ensors celebrate the talent of the Flemish audiovisual sector every year. The members of the Ensor Academy watched dozens of productions in recent weeks to arrive at the shortlist that was announced yesterday. Seven series on Streamz made the shortlist, together good for 33 nominations.



The Streamz Originals Moresnet, Styx, Kameleon, Bad Bad Belgium and also the Play4 series Nonkels, the VRT series Chantal and the VTM series Billie vs Benjamin have a chance to win prizes during the Ensors award ceremony on Friday 7 February 2025. The nominated films Skunk, Holy Rosita, J'Aime la Vie and De Magneetman can now also be seen on Streamz.

Which series and film will win the most Ensors this year will be announced on 7 February during the festive award ceremony in Kursaal Oostende. What we already know is that the best fiction series can undoubtedly be seen on Streamz, the nominees in this category are Moresnet, Styx, Kameleon, Chantal and Nonkels.

9 nominations for the Streamz Original Moresnet, including Best Fiction - Series, Best Script Fiction Series (Jef Hoogmartens), Best Director Fiction Series (Frank Van Passel), Best Art Direction (Geert Paredis, Florian Legters), Best Acting Performance Leading Role - Fiction Series (Boris Van Severen), Best Acting Performance Supporting Role - Fiction Series (Pierre Bokma), Best Editing (Thomas Pooters, Nico Poedts, Stijn Deconinck, Koen Timmerman, Pieter Smet), Best Sound (Leo Franssen, Nardi van Dijk, Jos van Galen) and Best Costume (Bho Roosterman).

The thriller series was directed by Frank Van Passel and written by Jef Hoogmartens in a production by Caviar for Streamz. The series was ​created by Frank Van Passel, Jef Hoogmartens and Jonas Van Geel.



7 nominations for the Streamz Original Styx, which premiered in January 2024 at the Ostend Film Festival, namely Best Fiction - Series, Best Script Fiction Series (Michel Sabbe), Best Director Fiction Series (Jeroen Dumoulein), Best Acting Performance Supporting Role - Fiction Series (Annemone Valcke), Best D.O.P. (Diego Dezuttere), Best Make-up (Pur Thijs, Rob Hillenbrink), Best Costume (Tine Verbeurgt),

The series was written by Michel Sabbe and directed by Jeroen Dumoulein. Styx is a production of Streamz and Eyeworks, in co-production with VTM and Hollands Licht.



6 nominations for the Streamz Original Kameleon, namely Best Fiction - Series, Best Director Fiction Series (Safi Graauw, Michael Abay), Best Acting Performance Leading Role - Fiction Series (Noa Tambwe Kabati), costume (Oemer Khan), best music (Will Michiels, Mounir Hathout, Eddy Adda) and best sound (Bart Martens).

Kameleon was conceived and written by Malik Mohammed and Kristof Hoefkens. The direction is provided by the Dutch director Safi Graauw and Michael Abay, the production is in the hands of De Mensen and Streamz.



5 nominations for the Play4 series Nonkels, the second season of which was released on Streamz on April 1, 2024. The series is nominated for Best Fiction - Series, Best Script Fiction Series (Jelle De Beule, Floris Schillebeeckx, Rik Verheye), Best Director Fiction Series (Jelle Gordyn), Best Acting Performance Leading Role - Fiction Series (Isabelle Van Hecke) and Best Make-up (Dorien Van Poucke).

The series was written by Jelle De Beule, Floris Schillebeeckx and Rik Verheye and directed by Jelle Gordyn in a production by FBO for PlayMedia and Streamz.



4 nominations for the second season of the VRT series Chantal. The series is nominated for Best Fiction - Series, Best Script Fiction Series (Mathias Sercu), Best Acting Performance Leading Role - Fiction Series (Maaike Cafmeyer) and Best Acting Performance Supporting Role - Fiction Series (Dries Heyneman).

Chantal was conceived and written by Mathias Sercu and directed by Jeroen Dumoulein. The series is a production of Eyeworks Film & TV Drama, in co-production with VRT 1. A third season has also been confirmed.



1 nomination for the VTM series Billie vs Benjamin, which has been on the streaming platform since March 2024. Joke Emmers has been nominated for Best Supporting Role - Fiction Series for her role in the series. She won the award in 2022, following the first season.

The second season of Billie vs Benjamin was written by David Vennix, Seppe Toremans and Tim Van Aelst. Wesley Jacobs and Tim Van Aelst were the directors for this last production of Shelter.



1 nomination for Bad Bad Belgium, namely for best animated series.

Bad Bad Belgium is a production by AKA De Mensen for Streamz and was written by Jasper Declercq and Tom Pardoen. The direction is in the hands of Jasper Declercq, Jonas Wellens and Wouter Medaer.
