Cloris Leachman passed away at the age of 94. She portrayed many characters and won eight Emmy awards.
Last Tuesday, Cloris Leachman passed away in her sleep due to natural causes. She became 94 years old, of which she spent slightly more than 70 years as an actress. She was nominated for an Emmy 22 times, of which she won eight. She was nominated several times for her portrayal of Grandma Ida in Malcolm in the Middle. Her last Emmy nomination came for her role in Raising Hope.

Leachman became more popular due to her portrayal of Phyllis Lindstrom in The Mary Tyler Moore Show and its spin-off Phyllis. She was also nominated for multiple awards for her portrayal of Phyllis. Eventually, she won an Emmy for her portrayal of the character in the original series, but also an Emmy for her lead role in the spin-off.

Apart from that, the actress has been part of American Gods, The Office, The Facts of Life, The Nutt House, The Twilight Zone, The Twilight Zone (2002), Gunsmoke, Rawhide, The Untouchables, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, 77 Sunset Strip and dozens of episodes of Lassie. Next to her big presence on the small screen, she was also part of many movies. Next to all the Emmy's, she also won an Oscar for the movie The Last Picture Show, which released in 1971.
