Actress Shirley Knight passed away of natural causes in San Marcos, Texas on the 22nd of April.
The actress was 83 years old. She was born on the 5th of July in 1936 and was raised in Mitchell, Kansas. She appeared in Desperate Housewives, Hot in Cleveland, House M.D., Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, NYPD Blue, Thirtysomething and The Mob Doctor. These are just a few series on her list.

Knight received eight Emmy nominations, from which she ended up winning three. She won one for her guest role in Thirtysomething in 1988, and one for her guest role in NYPD Blue. The most recent nomination was for her portrayal of Phyllis van de Kamp, the mother of Rex van de Kamp, in Desperate Housewives. The Mob Doctor was the final series Knight appeared in, which was in 2012. She retired at the age of eighty.
