CBS has ordered the pilot of a series adaptation of the movie True Lies, which released back in 1994. The project comes from Matt Nix, McG and James Cameron
Back in 2017, the series adaptation was announced. CBS has now decided to order a pilot episode. Matt Nix (
The Gifted) will write the pilot and McG (
Supernatural) will direct the episode. The story in the series is based on the comedy with the same name by James Cameron that released in 1994. He will also be involved with the series. At the time, the movie grossed 380 million dollars at the global box office. 20th Television is responsible for the production process.
In the pilot episode, a housewife finds out that her dull and unnoticeable husband is actually a capable international spy. As they try to reignite their passionless marriage, they are both tasked with saving the world. This results in a life packed with danger and adventure.
