ABC orders pilot of Harlem's Kitchen

ABC has ordered a pilot from Harlem's Kitchen, a drama series that was written by Zahir McGhee (For the People (2018). Harlem's Kitchen is a family drama set in a gourmet restaurant in Harlem. Ellis Rice, chef and patriarch, runs a successful restaurant with his wife and three daughters. But an unexpected death stirs the family. The future of the restaurant is endangered when family secrets are revealed.

Marcus Samuelsson, the famous Red Rooster chef in Harlem, New York, is the executive producer of Harlem's Kitchen, along with Laurie Zaks, Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman.

This is the first pilot that Zahir McGhee can independently produce. He was previously involved in the ABC drama series Private Practice, Scandal and For the People (2018).
