ABC orders three pilot episodes

ABC orders three pilot episodes

ABC has ordered a whopping three pilots. Two comedies, one of which is a western, and a drama series pilot.
We start with the drama Rebel that is inspired by the story of Erin Brockovich. Katey Sagal (Sons of Anarchy, photo) will play a leading role in the new pilot. The drama pilot has received a put pilot promise. This means that if ABC decides not to broadcast the pilot that it will cost them a lot of money. Usually, a put pilot is a guarantee that the pilot will be turned into a series.

Rebel was written by Krista Vernoff (Grey's Anatomy) and the story revolves around Annie "Rebel" Rebelsky (Sagal), who is currently still working as a legal counsilor even though she never received her law degree. She is a funny, messy, brilliant and fearless real-life superhero who desperately cares about the goals she fights for and the people she loves. When Rebel is committed to a fight in which she believes, she will almost always win.

The first of the two comedy pilots is My Village from Kari Lazer, who also created The New Adventures of Old Christine (photo left). Written and produced by Lizer, My Village revolves around an empty-nest mother who wonders how she ended up alone while her children live thousands of miles away. She decides to move towards her family and relocate herself into the lives of her children. Her children realize that they may need her more than they thought.

The second comedy pilot is a western comedy by Sherry Bilsing-Graham and Ellen Kreamer (I Hate My Teenage Daughter, photo ) and Randall Einhorn (Wilfred (US). The series is described as a comic western with a feminine twist An idealistic young woman moves to the border to become a teacher, but her ideals are quickly crushed when it turns out that she should not teach children, but rough ranchers.
