CBS orders pilot of reboot The Equalizer

CBS has given the green light for a pilot episode of The Equalizer. The project comes from Take Two creators Andrew Marlowe and Terri Miller, Davis Entertainment and Universal Television. Written by Marlowe and Miller - who will serve as showrunners - The Equalizer will show Queen Latifah as an enigmatic figure who uses her extensive skills to help people trapped in their lives. This is a new take on the character played by Edward Woodward in the original series and by Denzel Washington in the film.

The original series The Equalizer aired at CBS from 1985 to 1989. The feature film appeared in 2014. Queen Latifah - born Dana Elaine Owens - is an American rapper, singer and actress. Among other things, she is known for the Star series.
