Role for Patrick Dempsey in CBS pilot Ways & Means

CBS is working on a new political drama series called Ways & Means. Actor Patrick Dempsey has been cast to play a role in the pilot episode. Written by political consultant Mike Murphy and show runner Ed Redlich (Seal Team), Ways & Means revolves around a powerful congress leader, played by Parick Dempsey, who has lost faith in politics. It appears that he is secretly working with an idealistic young congresswoman from the counterparty to undermine the hopelessly stalled system that he helped create. Together they will try to save American politics - if they don't get caught.

Patrick Dempsey played the neurosurgeon Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd in ABC's medical drama series Grey's Anatomy for eleven seasons. After his departure in the spring of 2015, he got a role in The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair, which was broadcast by Epix in the United States.
