ABC working on pilot comedy series that is written by Emily Kapnek

Emily Kapnek is writing a pilot for a new comedy series for ABC. She previously made the successful comedy series Suburgatory, which aired on ABC from 2011 to 2014. The still untitled project by Emily Kapnek and Dean Holland is described as a love story with a twist. It revolves around New York teen Lennon Cochrane, whose life is turned upside down when she discovers a family secret. The casting for the comedy series has already begun.

Emily Kapnek, who also made the comedy series Splitting Up Together (US) for ABC, provides the script and executive production through her company Specifica. Dean Holland and Kapnek came up with the story. Dean Holland (Splitting Up Together (US), Parks and Recreation) will direct the comedy series.

The project is the twelfth pilot order of the season at ABC. Six of them are comedy series and six are drama series.
