CBS Confirms Fall Premieres for Boston Blue and Sheriff County with Promos

Spring has only just officially begun, but the bigwigs at CBS are already thinking about fall. The network is once again using its March Madness coverage to launch a promotional campaign for its new fall series.

Ten-second commercials for the Blue Bloods universe series Boston Blue, starring Donnie Wahlberg, and the Fire Country spinoff series Sheriff Country, starring Morena Baccarin, debuted during CBS's coverage of the men's basketball tournament on Thursday. A similar commercial for Blake Shelton and Taylor Sheridan's upcoming music competition series The Road will begin circulating this Thursday.

The promos for Boston Blue and Sheriff Country, which you can watch below, reveal that both will debut in the fall. They were previously selected to premiere in the 2025-26 season. The Road was already announced for fall 2025.

The promos for Sheriff Country come ahead of Baccarin’s return to Fire Country in the Friday, April 4 episode. Sheriff Country originated as a spinoff of Fire Country with an episode of the parent series that Baccarin guested on last season.

The early promo videos for Boston Blue and Sheriff Country are part of a long-term development strategy CBS implemented more than a year ago. Sheriff Country went to series last May and Boston Blue in February.

CBS began promoting new series for the next season during March Madness in 2023 with Tracker and did so again last year with Poppa’s House.
