Bosch spinoff Ballard starring Maggie Q gets premiere date from Prime Video

Bosch himself, Titus Welliver, can also be seen in Ballard. The first season with Maggie Q in the lead role has ten episodes.
Prime Video is set to release a new series called Ballard, a spin-off of the hit crime series Bosch. The new series stars Maggie Q as Detective Renée Ballard, a determined and empathetic officer who is put in charge of a brand new, poorly funded cold case unit for the LAPD.

Ballard focuses on solving forgotten and complex crimes from the past, including a series of murders committed by a serial killer and an unsolved murder of an unknown man (John Doe). During her investigation, she stumbles upon a dangerous internal conspiracy within the police department, making her job even more risky.

She is supported by a team of volunteers and the now retired Harry Bosch, played again by Titus Welliver. Together, they balance professional challenges, personal traumas and life-threatening situations in their search for the truth.

In addition to Maggie Q and Titus Welliver, the cast includes Courtney Taylor, John Carroll Lynch, Michael Mosley, Rebecca Field, Victoria Moroles, Amy Hill, Ricardo Chavira, Noah Bean, Alain Uy and Hector Hugo.

The series is inspired by the books of Michael Connelly, who also serves as an executive producer, along with Henrik Bastin, Michael Alaimo, and Kendall Sherwood, among others.

Prime Video has set Wednesday, July 9, for the premiere of Ballard. All ten episodes will be released at once.

I would have preferred it to just continue with Bosch and Maggie Q joining him, but hey, more Bosch is always a plus.
