Netflix gives premiere date to Sean Combs documentary by 50 Cent

Almost two years after Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson announced he would produce a documentary about Sean Combs, a release date has finally been set.
The four-part documentary, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, will be released worldwide on Tuesday, December 2 on Netflix. Alex Stapleton directs the series and serves as executive producer, alongside Jackson and several other producers.

The series explores who the real Sean Combs is — the man known by names such as Diddy, Puff Daddy, and Love. Combs gained massive influence in the music world as the founder of Bad Boy Entertainment and played a key role in popularizing hip-hop and launching artists like The Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, and Danity Kane. However, according to former friends, colleagues, and associates, a darker side of his ambitions began to emerge over time.

With never-before-seen footage and exclusive interviews from people close to Combs, the documentary sheds light not only on his meteoric career and wealth but also on the hidden network of misconduct that insiders claim lay beneath — especially relevant given his recent conviction.

Stapleton emphasizes that the documentary is not just about Combs or the lawsuits against him, but also about the way the public places celebrities on a pedestal. She hopes the series will serve as a mirror for society and as a wake-up call regarding idolatry and abuse of power.

It is still unknown who else will appear in the documentary and whether Jackson will be seen on screen or only act as an executive producer. However, he expresses pride in the team and the people who dared to share their stories, and in Stapleton's direction to bring this "important story" to life.
