Adult animated series Kevin gets premiere date from Prime Video

Prime Video has announced the premiere date for the new adult animated series Kevin. The series Kevin is written and produced by Aubrey Plaza and Joe Wengert, with Wengert also serving as the showrunner. The story is loosely based on a real-life breakup where even the cat ended up between two ex-partners.

In the series, the house cat Kevin decides to leave his human "owners" after they split up. He moves to an animal shelter in Astoria, Queens, where a group of eccentric animals helps him discover what he really wants in life.

Jason Schwartzman voices Kevin, a cat trying to live without humans. Plaza plays Dana, one of the two people he leaves behind.

The voice cast also includes Whoopi Goldberg as Cupcake, John Waters as Armando, and Aparna Nancherla as Judy, Kevin's new cat housemate at the shelter. The shelter is run by Seth, played by Gil Ozeri, along with his dog Brandi, voiced by Amy Sedaris.

The series opens with a title song, I’m Coming Home, sung by Schwartzman and co-written with composer Dan Romer, who also provides the music for the series.

Kevin premieres worldwide on Monday, April 20, and all eight episodes will be released simultaneously.
