Hagrid is a key character who appears in every Harry Potter book. He loves magical creatures, is loyal to Dumbledore, and is both a mentor and friend to Harry.
Besides Frost, other big names have been added to the cast: John Lithgow plays Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu is Severus Snape, and Janet McTeer plays Minerva McGonagall.
The series is described as a “faithful adaptation” of J.K. Rowling’s beloved books. Rowling herself serves as executive producer, along with Francesca Gardiner (who also writes), Mark Mylod (who directs and executive produces multiple episodes), and others.
