NBC is renewing all Law & Order and Chicago series with new seasons

Broadcaster NBC has renewed all of its six drama series from executive producer Dick Wolf, consisting of three Law & Order series and three Chicago series, for the 2023-24 television season.
Dick Wolf can rent the room and order the cake. All six of his series on NBC are returning for the new 2023-24 television season: Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Law & Order, Law & Order: Organized Crime, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

“We understand the emotional connection our audience has with these characters and we can’t wait to bring more of their stories to the forefront next season,” said Lisa Katz, President, Scripted Programming, NBCUniversal and Streaming. “A huge thank you to Dick and his amazing team who are the masters of producing incredibly compelling television week after week.”

“I’m pleased to continue my four-decade relationship with Universal Television and NBC,” said Wolf. “All six shows being picked up again is the ultimate accolade to our incredible casts, producers and writers. I’d also like to thank our loyal fans who have kept our NBC shows on the air for what will be a cumulative 84 seasons.”

Chicago Med

Chicago Med is a medical drama series starring Nick Gehlfuss, Oliver Platt, S. Epatha Merkerson, Brian Tee, Steven Weber, Marlyne Barrett, Dominic Rains, Kristen Hager, Guy Lockard and Jessy Schram.

The eighth season currently airs on Wednesday nights and ends in May.

The story follows the doctors, nurses and staff of the city's state-of-the-art trauma center, Gaffney Chicago Medical Center, through the chaos of their daily lives. As a team, they confront the Windy City's most critical medical cases and challenging ethical dilemmas with courage, compassion and advanced medicine. The series sometimes features crossovers with Chicago Fire and Chicago PD.

Chicago Fire

Chicago Fire has been renewed for a twelfth season. The eleventh season airs on Wednesday evenings and ends in May.

Chicago Fire, a drama series for first responders, stars Taylor Kinney, David Eigenberg, Eamonn Walker, Christian Stolte, Joe Minoso, Kara Killmer, Miranda Rae Mayo, Alberto Rosende, Daniel Kyri and Hanako Greensmith.

This series revolves around the personal and professional lives of the firefighters, rescue crew and paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51. Battalion Chief Wallace Boden (Walker), Lt. Kelly Severide (Kinney), Lt. Week after week, Stella Kidd (Mayo) and their teammates risk their lives to save and protect the citizens of the Windy City. The series also features crossovers with Chicago Med and Chicago PD.

Chicago PD

Chicago PD is renewed for an eleventh year. The current tenth season runs on Wednesday nights and ends in May.

Chicago PD, a police drama series, stars Jason Beghe, Patrick John Flueger, Marina Squerciati, LaRoyce Hawkins, Tracy Spiridakos, Amy Morton, Benjamin Levy Aguilar and Jesse Lee Soffer.

This series follows the personal and professional lives of the men and women of the elite Chicago Police Department of Intelligence. They fight the city's most heinous crimes, including organized crime, drug trafficking and high-profile murders. Detective Sgt. Hank Voight (Beghe) is at the center of crime-fighting, doing everything he can to bring criminals to justice. The series also features crossovers with Chicago Med and Chicago Fire.

Law & Order

The original Law & Order series has been renewed for a 23rd season. The 22nd season currently airs on Thursday nights and will end in May.

Law & Order is a crime series starring Sam Waterston, Jeffrey Donovan, Camryn Manheim, Hugh Dancy, Odelya Halevi and Mehcad Brooks.

Set in New York City, the story follows the police investigating crimes and the prosecutors prosecuting the perpetrators. Characters include District Attorney Jack McCoy (Waterson), Assistant District Attorney Samantha Maroun (Odelya), Assistant District Attorney Nolan Price (Dancy), Lieutenant Kate Dixon (Manheim), Detective Frank Cosgrove (Donovan) and Junior Detective Jalen Shaw (Brooks). The stories are often based on real cases and the episodes are divided between a criminal investigation and the trial that follows.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit stars Mariska Hargitay, Ice-T, Peter Scanavino, Octavio Pisano, Molly Burnett and Kelli Giddish.

The 24th season currently airs on Thursday nights and ends in May.

The police drama series created by Wolf revolves around Lt. Olivia Benson (Hargitay) and her elite team of New York City Police Department detectives who investigate crimes such as sexual assault, child abuse and domestic violence. The team consists of Sergeant Odafin 'Fin' Tutuola (Ice-T), Detective Amanda Rollins (Giddish), Junior Detective Joe Velasco (Pisano), and Grace Muncy (Burnett). Meanwhile, Assistant District Attorney Dominick "Sonny" Carisi (Scanavino) investigates the politics of the DA office.

Law & Order: Organized Crime

Law & Order: Organized Crime has been renewed for a fourth year. The episodes of the third season air on Thursday nights and end in May.

Law & Order: Organized Crime is a spin-off series of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and stars Christopher Meloni, Danielle Moné Truitt, Ainsley Seiger, Brent Antonello, and Rick Gonzalez.

The story follows the detectives of the NYPD's Organized Crime Control Bureau as they work to dismantle the city's most vicious and violent illegal enterprises. Detective Elliot Stabler (Meloni) returns to the force after a ten-year absence and must rebuild his life after a devastating personal loss. Stabler's sergeant and partner, Ayanna Bell (Truitt), leads the task force. Jet Slootmaekers (Seiger) is observant and deceptively clever, using her technical expertise and hacking skills to give the team an edge over their target. Detectives Jamie Whelan (Antonello) and Bobby Reyes (Gonzalez) are recent additions to the team.
