New animated comedy Long Story Short gets early renewal from Netflix

New animated comedy Long Story Short gets early renewal from Netflix

Even before the premiere of the first season on Friday, August 22, Netflix has renewed the new animated series Long Story Short for a second season.
From BoJack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg, the series centers on a single family over a long period. Throughout the series, we follow the Schwooper siblings from childhood to adulthood—and back again—depicting their successes, disappointments, joys, and compromises.

Bob Waksberg previously explained: "In the first episode, we get to know the children when they're young, but in the next episode, we jump forward in time and see them as adults, with children of their own." This nonlinear narrative is a key feature of Long Story Short, which explores the family story through the years in an original way.

The voice cast includes Lisa Edelstein, Paul Reiser, Ben Feldman, Abbi Jacobson, Max Greenfield, Angelique Cabral, and Nicole Byer. Dave Franco and Michaela Dietz also have recurring roles.

Bob Waksberg writes and serves as showrunner for the series and is also an executive producer, along with Noel Bright and Steven A. Cohen for Tornante Television.

A trailer for the first season has been released. Watch it below.
