CBC renews two legal dramas

CBC has renewed two series; Burden of Truth and Diggstown. They've received a fourth and third season, respectively.
Burden of Truth has been renewed with a fourth season. The series premiered back in 2018. The fourth season of Burden of Truth will consist of eight episodes, just like the second and third season. Production is set to begin in Winnipeg, Manitoba later this summer.

Next to that, CBC has also renewed another legal drama series. Diggstown has been renewed with a third season. Production on this series is set to begin early 2021.

Burden of Truth was created by Brad Simpson (Rookie Blue) and revolves around Joanna Hanley (Kristin Kreuk, Beauty and the Beast, a lawyer from the big city. She returns to her hometown in order to help out with a case. That case revolves around a group of girls who all seem to suffer from a mysterious illness.

Diggstown revolves around Marcie Diggs (Vinessa Antoine, Heartland), a company lawyer who reconsiders her priorities after a beloved aunt commits suicide after a harsh prosecution. Marcie ends up in a legal aid office in Dartmouth and is driven by one thing; preventing innocent lives being destroyed by the legal system.
