Disney+ orders a reboot to Doogie Howser, M.D.

Disney+ has ordered a reboot of the American drama series Doogie Howser, M.D., which premiered in 1989. The reboot is expected to release on the streaming service in 2021.
Doogie Howser, M.D. premiered at ABC in 1989. The drama series was eventually cancelled after four seasons in 1993. Disney+ has now ordered a reboot, which is currently called Doogie Kameāloha. The streaming service has ordered ten episodes in total. The reboot comes from Kourtney Kang (How I Met Your Mother) and is expected to release on Disney+ in 2021.

Doogie Kameāloha, M.D. takes place on Hawaii and will revolve around Lahela 'Doogie' Kameāloha, a sixteen-year-old girl. She has to find the balance between her upcoming medical career and her life as a teenager. Her Irish mother - who is also her superior in the hospital - and her Hawaiian father - who is struggling with the fact that Lahela is no longer his little girl - help her with her adventure. The original series followed Doogie Howser (Neil Patrick Harris, How I Met Your Mother) who was also a miracle child who became a fully-fledged doctor at the age of sixteen and had to combine his professional career with the life of a growing teenager.
