Their characters will both be introduced in episode 16 of The Equalizer season five on Sunday, April 20, titled Sins of Our Father. Welliver plays Hudson Reed, a former top CIA agent with a dark secret who is brought into contact with Robyn McCall (Queen Latifah) by an old mentor. Feliz plays Samantha Reed, trained by her father to be a weapons expert, skilled martial artist and true chameleon, while hiding a mysterious past.
Both Welliver and Feliz were cast as guest stars in the episode, with options remaining for the potential spinoff.
The Equalizer stars Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall, an enigmatic woman with a mysterious background who uses her extensive skills as a former CIA agent to help those who have nowhere else to turn, and is a reimagining of the classic 1985 series.
The season five cast also includes Tory Kittles, Adam Goldberg, Liza Lapira, Laya Deleon Hayes, and Lorraine Toussaint.
Welliver can currently be seen starring as Harry Bosch in Bosch: Legacy, which is airing its third and final season on Prime Video. He played Harry Bosch in all seven seasons of the mothership series Bosch.
Feliz had a recurring role on Tracy Oliver’s Amazon television series Harlem. Her television roles also include FX’s Fleishman is in Trouble and HBO Max’s DMZ, and AMC’s upcoming The Terror: Devil in Silver.
