Helen is getting used to motherhood while James is at RAF Abingdon air base. Mrs Hall and Siegfried enjoy having the little one around them, and Carmody has now become part of the furniture. With the Second World War in full swing, Siegfried takes over the practice, Mrs Hall and Helen reflect on their contribution to the community and Carmody wants to move up. Siegfried is happy to see everyone return, but Tristan's surprise return is not as straight forward as he had hoped.
