16822 Boyzone documentaire

For the first time in thirty years, band members Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and Mikey Graham speak candidly about their time in the band, which sold more than 25 million records worldwide. In a rare and in-depth interview, they reveal how fame and the downside of their great success affected them, how their relationships came under strain and how they tried to cope with the highs and lows of their careers.

The explosive trailer, released today by SkyShowtime, gives the first look at what really happened behind the scenes of one of the biggest boy bands in the world.

Boyzone grew into one of the most successful boy bands of all time, but behind the scenes conflict and rivalry, betrayal and tragedy led to their breakup. Now, three decades later, the four remaining band members, together with their former manager Louis Walsh, look back on their meteoric rise, mutual fractures and the painful downside of success.

With raw honesty, exclusive archive footage and contributions from Stephen Gately's sister Michelle and his former partner, the Dutch Eloy de Jong, Boyzone: Life, Death & Boybands delves into the moments that shaped the group. From the brutal media attention of the 1990s - including Stephen Gately's forced coming out - to their spectacular comeback in 2007 and the tragic loss of Stephen. An event that has scarred them forever.

The documentary is directed by Sophie Oliver and executive produced by Dov Freedman and Charlie Russel.

Boyzone: Life, Death & Boybands can be seen exclusively on SkyShowtime from Sunday 16 March.
