Chicago P.D., Med & Fire renewed

Chicago P.D., Med & Fire renewed

Nobody at NBC has enough of the Chicago franchise. All the series have been renewed by the peacock network.
The men and women of fire station 51 will continue to serve for the next three years. The very first Chicago series, Chicago Fire, has been updated with a ninth, tenth and eleventh season.

But the second Chicago series, Chicago PD, has also been renewed for three seasons. The intelligence unit will be allowed to solve crimes during an eighth, ninth and tenth season.

And then the hospital in the Windy City, Chicago Med, which will receive a sixth, seventh and eighth season. That means that the series will certainly be airing at NBC until 2022-2023.

This renewal has everything to do with a deal that Dick Wolf signed with NBC to stay with Universal Television for the next five years. And with that deal came the renewal of the Chicago series.

Paul Telegdy, chairman of NBC entertainment said: "Dick Wolf has proven time and time again that he makes shows audiences love," Paul Telegdy, Chairman, NBC Entertainment, said. "We are delighted, excited and proud that as part of this epic deal with Wolf Entertainment, NBC's loyal audience will know that their favorite shows have a certain future for the next three years."

Although the ratings are falling slightly for Med and PD, the confidence in the Chicago franchise is large enough to renew it for at least another three years. The current seasons will end in May and the next seasons are set to start during Q3.
