Biblical story comes to life in trailer for Amazon series House of David

Amazon's Prime Video has released the first trailer for the Biblical epic series House of David.
Newcomer Michael Iskander, who starred in the Tony Award-winning musical Kimberly Akimbo, plays David and was chosen after a four-month international search.

In the story, David becomes king of Israel, taking on Goliath (Martyn Ford) and navigating love and loss to fulfill his ultimate destiny, despite starting out as an outcast teenager. In addition to Iskander, the cast includes Ali Suliman as King Saul, Ayelet Zurer as Queen Ahinoam and Stephen Lang as Samuel.

Other cast members include Indy Lewis as Mychal, Yali Topol Margalith as Mirab, Ethan Kai as Saul's son Jonathan, Sam Otto as Eshbaal and Oded Fehr as Abner, Saul's advisor.

House of David comes from Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn with Erwin, Gunn, Jonathan Lloyd Walker, Justin Rosenblatt, Chad Oakes and Michael Frislev serving as executive producers in association with Wonder Project and Amazon MGM Studios.

The series is based on an idea by Jon Erwin with Dallas Jenkins, the creator and producer-director of The Chosen, as a shareholder and special advisor to Wonder Project.

The first three episodes of House of David will premiere on Prime Video on Thursday, February 27, with subsequent episodes airing weekly.
