Peacock releases first trailer for The Office sequel The Paper

Peacock releases first trailer for The Office sequel The Paper

Peacock has released the trailer for The Paper, a mockumentary set in the same universe as The Office.
Oscar Nunez returns as Oscar Martinez, while the documentary crew that once filmed Dunder Mifflin now descends on Toledo, Ohio, to follow the staff of the Truth-Teller. This newspaper, which has been around for over a century, is now merely a side hustle for its owner, who also sells toilet paper and toilet seat covers.

In this setting, Ned Sampson (Domhnall Gleeson, pictured) appears, determined to restore the newspaper to its former glory. Unable to afford paid reporters, he recruits volunteers from the non-editorial staff. The documentary crew follows his efforts, much to Oscar's chagrin.

The series was created by Greg Daniels (The Office) and Michael Koman (Nathan for You) and ordered by Peacock in May 2024. Daniels indicated that many of The Office's crew members will return.

In addition to Nunez and Gleeson, the main cast includes Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, and Tim Key.

Guest stars include Duane R. Shepard Sr., Allan Havey, Nate Jackson, Mo Welch, Nancy Lenehan, Molly Ephraim, and Tracy Letts. Ikumelo, Edelman, Rahill, and Welch also co-wrote the screenplay.

The first season consists of ten episodes. The first four episodes will be released on Thursday, September 4th, with two new episodes airing weekly until September 25th.
