©Deadline - Juan Rosas/NetflixWhen the story begins, however, Creasy is heavily scarred by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Haunted by his past, he tries to overcome his inner demons and find a path to redemption. Before he can adjust to this new life, he is once again drawn into extreme violence and must fight harder than ever to survive.
In the first images, Creasy appears unkempt, armed, and visibly marked by everything he has been through, setting the tone for a raw and intense story. In addition to Abdul-Mateen II, the cast includes Billie Boullet, Bobby Cannavale, Alice Braga, Scoot McNairy, and Paul Ben-Victor.
The character John Creasy has been filmed before. In the well-known 2004 film version, he was played by Denzel Washington, directed by Tony Scott. Before that, in 1987, an Italian thriller with the same title appeared, in which Scott Glenn played the lead role as Christian Creasy.
With this new series, the familiar story receives a modern reinterpretation, focusing on psychological depth and action.
