Central to the story is Lucy Studey, one of his daughters, who claims she knows where the bodies are buried. She asserts that her father disposed of victims in a stone well and that she witnessed this herself. According to her, the bodies were treated with chemicals to decompose faster. Meanwhile, another daughter completely refutes these accusations, calling the story a big lie, which immediately casts doubt on what truly happened.
Since Donald Studey died in 2013, he cannot defend himself. So far, excavations at the alleged burial site have only uncovered animal bones, further adding to the mystery. The series raises the question of who is telling the truth and whether convincing evidence will ever be found.
Additionally, the documentary paints a disturbing picture of Studey’s life: three of his five wives are said to have committed suicide, which is statistically remarkable and suspicious. Witnesses describe him as someone who was extremely polarized in his emotions—either he loved you or he hated you, possibly with deadly consequences.
By combining these elements—personal testimonies, questionable evidence, and a dark past—the series offers an intriguing and unanswered puzzle about guilt, truth, and family ties.
