However, their lives take a dramatic turn when their husbands are mysteriously murdered in the Soviet Union. What begins as grief and confusion quickly turns into a dangerous mission when the women are forced to become CIA agents.
Bea, played by Emilia Clarke, is a smart and highly educated woman, the daughter of Soviet immigrants, and fluent in Russian. Her counterpart is Twila, portrayed by Haley Lu Richardson, a fearless country girl who is not intimidated by anyone. Despite their completely different backgrounds, they form an unlikely but effective duo.
As they learn to master their new roles as spies, they become embroiled in a complex conspiracy deeply rooted in the tensions of the Cold War. At the same time, they try to uncover the truth behind the events that made them widows.
In addition to Clarke and Richardson, the cast includes Adrian Lester, Artjom Gilz, Nicholas Podany, Petro Ninovskyi, and Vic Michaelis.
