Once Upon a Time - Complete series

Once upon a time there were two show creators who came up with a magnificent idea. Why not make a TV show where all kinds of fairy tale characters are placed in a modern setting? And so it happened and Once Upon a Time was born.

From the very beginning, the creators of the show found out that there was a lot of interest in the story of city girl Emma Swan, who suddenly finds herself in Storybrooke, a fictional small town inhabited by various fairy tale characters. Both evil and good characters live here, but only the mayor and another person are aware of who they really are and how and why they've been cursed.

The arrival of Emma, who is in fact the daughter of one of the most well-known fairy tale characters, slowly results in the inhabitants of Storybrooke figuring out who they really are and how they've been cursed.

Most characters want to do something about the curse. The viewer is shown how everything came to be and is regularly immersed in the true fairy tale feeling. The creators have decided to use more fairy tales than those written by Grimm and Andersen, such as those involving the land of Oz, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell and even Cruella de Vil.

The show deserved more than the ending it got.

All these various stories result in very diverse storylines throughout the entire show. It definitely shows how skilled the writers were, as even though there were so many stories, it never became chaotic. The show was really easy to follow and even though the stories sometimes deviated from the original fairy tale it was still amusing to watch every new episode.

Creators often try to stretch out successful shows, which unfortunately happened to Once Upon a Time as well. When several key characters decide to leave at the end of season six, the writers provide us with a beautiful ending.

But the show doesn't end with that beauty, a seventh season was announced. It was a completely separate story from the previous six seasons, which probably resulted in a lot of disappointed viewers. Even though a couple of important characters still showed up, the magic from the first six seasons had vanished. The creators should have seen that coming as the spin-off Once Upon a Time in Wonderland wasn't that successful either.

Nonetheless, I think we can conclude by saying that Once Upon a Time was one of the most loved fantasy series of the past several years. This show was interesting for both young and old. However, the show deserved more than the ending it got.
