Netflix drops trailer and premiere date of live-action series One Piece based on manga title

We get our first look at the straw hats in One Piece (2023), the upcoming live-action series based on one of the best-selling manga titles of all time from Netflix.
Based on Eiichiro Oda's manga title, One Piece follows the otherworldly adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his pirate crew as they explore exotic islands and endless oceans in search of the ultimate treasure 'One Piece' to become the next Pirate King.

Iñaki Godoy stars as Monkey D. Luffy, along with the straw hats played by Mackenyu (Roronoa Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero Gibson (Usopp), and Taz Skylar (Sanji).

Netflix dropped the first teaser on Saturday during the presentation of the series on Tudum. One Piece can be streamed from Thursday 31 August.

The cast also includes McKinley Belcher III (Ozark, We Own This City), Morgan Davies (The Girlfriend Experience), Aidan Scott, Vincent Regan (Before We Die (UK), The Bay (2019)), Jeff Ward (Marvel's Agents or S.H.I.E.L.D.), Craig Fairbrass, Langley Kirkwood (Warrior (2019), Banshee), Celeste Loots, Alexander Maniatis, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino (The Sex Lives of College Girls), Chioma Umeala and Steven Ward (Queen Sono).

Steven Maeda (Lost, The X Files) and Matt Owens (Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Luke Cage) are the writers, executive producers and showrunners. Oda, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements also produce.

One Piece is produced by Tomorrow Studios and Netflix in collaboration with Shueisha.
