The special, titled Appeltje voor de Dorst, offers a final look at the characters and their stories, allowing the cast and audience to bid farewell to the beloved series, which has grown into a major success over the years and won the Gouden Televizier-Ring in 2023.
Oogappels is currently in its final season, bringing an end to the story of four families balancing between parental concerns, teenage woes, and societal pressure.
The Oogappels special will be broadcast directly after the very last episode of the series on Wednesday, December 17, from 21:30 to 22:30 on NPO 1.
However, the arrival of the farewell special also has a practical consequence: the annual NOC*NSF Sportgala, traditionally presented by Dione de Graaff, will have to make way for it. Therefore, the gala will move from NPO 1 to NPO 3, where it will also be aired on December 17 at 21:30.
