Main role for James Wolk in pilot episode of drama series Ordinary Joe

The American channel NBC has made a pilot for the new series Ordinary Joe. Russel Friend and Garrett Lerner, known from House M.D., have worked out the concept.

Creator Matt Reeves (Felicity) will direct the pilot. Ordinary Joe explores the three parallel lives of the main character of the series after making a crucial choice at a crossroads in his life. The series asks how different life might look if you made your decision based on love, loyalty or passion. Actor James Wolk, known from Watchmen (2019), will play the lead role of Joe Kimbrough in the pilot. That was announced on Thursday.

Ordinary Joe has similarities with This Is Us from NBC because of the parallel storylines. The drama series is a passion project by Matt Reeves, who wrote a pilot script more than ten years ago. Reeves is currently also directing the new feature film The Batman, which will be released in 2021.
