Starting date for sixth season Outlander

The news was revealed by Diana Gabaldon, author of the Outlander book series upon which the historical drama series is based. She talked about this during the launch of the ninth book in the series, Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone.

The sixth season is based on Gabaldon's book A Breath of Snow and Ashes and proceeds after the events of the fifth season. Here, Claire Beauchamp (Caitriona Balfe) returned to Fraser's Ridge after a violent encounter with Lionel Brown (Ned Dennehy).

She and her husband Jamie MacKenzie Fraser (Sam Heughan) now strive to keep the peace and live in a society, which is on its way towards a revolution. Claire is well aware of that. With all of that in mind, Claire and Jamie built a house in Fraser's Ridge and are now forced to defend the land that was given to them by the crown.

For the Frasers and their relatives 'home' is more than just a place where they live, it is the place where they lay the foundations for the remainder of their life.

On Sunday the 6th of March, Outlander will return with its sixth season. On all Starz platforms. A seventh season has already been announced by Starz.
