Ozark follows the story of the Byrdes family from Chicago. At first glance, Marty and Wendy seem to lead a standard life with their two children. Marty is a financial advisor, but also heads the money laundering department of one of the largest Mexican drug cartels. If something goes wrong, the family is forced to leave Chicago and go into hiding in the Missouri Ozarks region. In January, the release date of the third season was announced.

Jason Bateman portrays Marty, Laura Linney portrays his wife. Sofia Hublitz and Skylar Gaertner portray Charlotte Byrde and Jonah Byrde, the couple's children. Julia Garner, Charlie Tahan and Lisa Emery, among others, also play an important role. Tom Pelphrey and Jessica Frances Dukes appear for the first time in the third season. Pelphrey as Ben Davis, the capricious young brother of Wendy and Dukes as FBI agent and forensic accountant, Maya Miller.
