Sneak peek for Paradise season two at Comic-Con introduces Shailene Woodley

Sneak peek for Paradise season two at Comic-Con introduces Shailene Woodley

During San Diego Comic-Con, Hulu surprised Paradise fans with an exclusive, extended sneak peek of the second season.
The sneak peek for season two of Paradise at San Diego Comic-Con revealed that Shailene Woodley has joined the cast. The footage, which served as the opening scene for season two, was met with enthusiastic reception in the audience. Unfortunately, the footage cannot be shared, and the audience members were the only lucky ones.

Woodley (pictured) plays a tour guide at Graceland, Elvis Presley's iconic estate, where she shows guests around, feeds horses, and maintains the gardens. But during an afternoon tour, the peace is abruptly shattered by tsunami warnings.

Panic ensues, and just as in episode 7 of the first season, a global disaster unfolds. Woodley's character quickly intervenes, gathering supplies and leading staff to safety. As the power goes out and the tsunami draws ever closer, they rush to an underground bunker in Graceland — after which the screen goes black.

According to creator Dan Fogelman, the scene is still in the editing stage and the visual effects aren't finished, but he still wanted to share this first look with fans. He joked, "No one else has seen this yet. You're the first."

While Fogelman couldn't reveal much about the rest of season two, he did reveal that Woodley's character will eventually come into contact with Xavier, played by Sterling K. Brown. How this happens remains a secret for now.

What is certain is that a large portion of the first episode takes place at Graceland—though filming wasn't actually in Memphis. The set is a detailed replica based on photographs. Woodley joked, "I've never been to the real Graceland, but I feel like I own it now."

Fogelman indicated that production on season two is almost complete and hopes for an early 2026 release, possibly as early as January. An official release date has not yet been set. "I have to get Sterling on television at least once a year," Fogelman joked.

So excited! As I mentioned in my reaction to this series, the second season will definitely take a completely different approach. I absolutely couldn't have imagined that Graceland would play such a major role. It'll be fun to see how these two stories intertwine.
