During the panel in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con, a new teaser for season two was also shown, which revolves around the book "The Sea of Monsters." In it, Percy, along with Annabeth, Clarisse, and his newly discovered half-brother Tyson (a Cyclops played by Daniel Diemer), must search for the legendary Golden Fleece to save Camp Half-Blood.
The trailer shows, among other things, an impending war between the demigods and monstrous enemies, Clarisse (Dior Goodjohn) menacingly climbing out of a boat, Luke (Charlie Bushnell) wielding a deadly dagger, Tyson saving Percy from a fiery attack and revealing his cyclops eye for the first time, and a funny scene with the Gray Sisters teasing Annabeth (Leah Jeffries) about Percy being her "boyfriend."
Showrunner Craig Silverstein explained that season two will revolve around “Percy trying to hold his life together as everything around him changes and falls apart — in other words, typical high school.”
Executive producer Dan Shotz added that the season is bigger, both literally and figuratively: "We're at sea. On a 175-foot battleship. On cruise ships. In chariots. And we're fighting incredible monsters."
The official season two description reads: "After breaching Camp Half-Blood's magical barrier of protection, Percy embarks on an epic odyssey through the Sea of Monsters to rescue his best friend Grover and find the Golden Fleece—the only thing that can save the camp. Together with Annabeth, Clarisse, and his half-brother Tyson, he must do whatever it takes to stop Luke and the rising power of the Titan Kronos and protect Mount Olympus."
Percy Jackson and the Olympians season two will premiere on Disney+ on Wednesday, December 10. Watch the teaser below.
