Power Book III: Raising Kanan takes place in the 90s. It shows the younger years of Kanan Stark. He is the fifteen-year-old child of Raquel Thomas, a cocaine distributor with a large network of dealers in the city. The series shows how he became the person we know from the original series. Starting from the 18th of July, Power Book III: Raising Kanan will be available on Starz.
In the original series, Curtis Jackson portrayed Kanan Stark. Mekai Curtis (Milo Murphy's Law) will portray the younger version of Kanan. Next to that, Patina Miller (Madam Secretary) has been cast for the role of his mother. The series comes from Sascha Penn (Survivor's Remorse).
Next to Power Book III: Raising Kanan, another Power spin-off will release soon. Last September, Starz ordered the spin-off Power Book IV: Force.
