Ray Donovan returning to Showtime with a movie

Showtime has announced that they're going to release a movie of Ray Donovan, in order to properly conclude the series.

Last year, the fans of Ray Donovan received the bad news that Showtime had decided to cancel the series. Turns out, the ending of the seventh season wasn't quite a proper conclusion of the series. There were some rumours about a sequel, which were fuelled by Liev Schreiber. Showtime has now revealed that they will properly conclude the series through a movie, which is going to pick up exactly where the final season ended.

Lead actor Liev Schreiber (Hitler: The Rise of Evil) will return to portray Ray Donovan for one last time. Jon Voight (Lone Star) and Kerris Dorsey (Brothers & Sisters) will also return for the movie. The script of the movie will be written by Schreiber and showrunner David Hollander. Later this year, the film will be shot.

Back in 2013, the drama series premiered. It tells the story of fixer Ray Donovan who helps the rich and famous in Los Angeles when they're in trouble. Next to Liev Schreiber, the cast further consists of Jon Voight, Katherine Moening, Steven Bauer, Paula Malcolmson, Eddie Marsan, Dash Mihok, Pooch Hall and Kerris Dorsey. In the final season, Alan Alda and Zach Grenier were added to the cast.
