©Deadline - NetflixThe series revolves around Isla Gordon (Hudson). When a scandal forces her brother to step down, she is unexpectedly appointed as president of the Los Angeles Waves, a legendary professional basketball franchise and the family business. In the first season, Isla had to prove herself to her skeptical brothers, the board of directors, and the broader sports world.
In the second season, she is no longer the surprising choice but is constantly in the spotlight. While the franchise recovers from last year's scandal, Isla is determined to show she is more than just a temporary replacement for her brother Cam, played by Theroux.
What she doesn't know is that Cam is maneuvering behind the scenes to reclaim his position, trying to use every misstep of hers to his advantage. At the same time, Isla must balance the pressures of leading a sports organization with her personal life, where every decision—on and off the field—is crucial. To survive the family feuds and the critical eye of the board, she will need to completely revise her strategy.
Alongside Hudson and Theroux, the regular cast includes Drew Tarver, Scott MacArthur, Brenda Song, Fabrizio Guido, Chet Hanks, Toby Sandeman, and Agada.
In recurring roles, besides Romano, we see Max Greenfield, Jay Ellis, Roberto Sanchez, Jon Glaser, Scott Evans, Rob Huebel, Marissa Reyes, Blake Anderson, Ken Marino, Tommy Dewey, Richa Moorjani, Aliyah Turner, and Jake Picking.
The series comes from Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and showrunner David Stassen, who serve as writers and executive producers.
Running Point season two is available to stream on Netflix from Thursday, April 23.
