Mark-Paul Gosselaar will have a role in remake Saved by the Bell

Saved by the Bell is an American comedy series from the NBC channel. The original series had four seasons, which started in 1989 and lasted till 1993. NBC is working on a remake.

Saved by the Bell is about a group of friends at Bayside high, a high school They experience many adventures, in which their principal Richard Belding (Dennis Haskins) is often involved. Although Saved by the Bell is a youth series, the series often includes subjects that real teenagers also had to deal with, such as drug use, drunk driving, being homeless, financial problems, divorce, love problems, acquiring a diploma, bullying, death and taking responsibility.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar

Actor Mark-Paul Gosselaar, the original star of television series Saved by the Bell, said in September 2019 that he did not know that a remake of the popular series is being made. "I had to read it in the news, just like everyone else," Gosselaar then told Variety. But NBC has since announced that he can still be seen in the remake. In the new series he'll portray Zack Morris, the governor of California.

Mario Lopez (Slater) and Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie) also return with a role in the series. Zack Morris is disliked because he closes too many schools for children of low-income parents and tries to turn the tide by sending affected students to the best schools. Among them is Bayside High, the high school where the original series took place.
