Cast Members Announced for New FX Limited Series Say Nothing

FX has ordered the limited series Say Nothing and has tapped several actors for the lead roles.
Spanning four decades, Say Nothing explores the tumultuous period in Northern Ireland known as The Troubles. The series begins with the shocking disappearance of Jean McConville, a single mother of ten children who was kidnapped from her home in 1972 and never seen alive again. But McConville was just one of many others who became known collectively as The Disappeared.

The nine-episode series is based on the book by Patrick Radden Keefe (who will serve as executive producer) and chronicles the troubles in Northern Ireland.

Lola Petticrew, Hazel Doupe, Anthony Boyle, Josh Finan and Maxine Peake (pictured from left to right) have been cast in the lead roles.

Petticrew can be seen opposite Julia Louis-Dreyfus in the A24 film Tuesday, which is already attracting a lot of attention after the studio recently released the trailer. Her series credits include BBC's Bloodlands and the British miniseries Anne Boleyn.

Doupe will soon be seen in the AMC series Sanctuary: A Witch's Tale. Previously, she starred in the Irish crime series Smother and guest-starred in AMC's Into the Badlands and BBC/Amazon series Ripper Street.

Boyle, best known for his role in HBO's The Plot Against America, has a big year ahead of him with two highly anticipated Apple series. He can currently be seen in Masters of the Air, soon to be followed by Manhunt (2024), in which he plays John Wilkes Boothe.

Finan's credits include BBC's The Responder and Netflix's upcoming The Gentlemen.

Peake has appeared in films including The Theory of Everything and had roles in the ITV miniseries Anne and Channel 4/Netflix series Black Mirror.

Through the eyes of several IRA members, including sisters Dolours and Marian Price - young women who turned into magnetic symbols of radical politics, Brendan Hughes - a taciturn but conflicted military strategist - and Gerry Adams - a shrewd political player who would talk about peace negotiate but would ultimately deny his involvement with the IRA, Say Nothing shows the extremes some people go to in a civil rights movement in pursuit of their ideals, the mystery surrounding the disappeared, the costs of silence and the way society recovers - or does not recover - after a long and bloody conflict.

Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson's Color Force produce the series. Josh Zetumer and Michael Lennox join as executive producers, with Zetumer also serving as showrunner and Lennox directing.

Edward McDonnell and Monica Levinson are also producing and the series is produced by FX Productions.

The series will be available exclusively on Hulu in the US, Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ in all other territories.
