NBC is showing a sign of confidence to Sean Saves the World.
The network has ordered five more episodes from the “Will & Grace” alum’s freshman comedy, “Sean Saves the World”, bringing the first season of the multi-camera comedy starring Sean Hayes to 18 episodes.
The freshman comedy had been struggling in the ratings since its premiere in early October, but the episode order arrives the day after the comedy hit its season-high ratings on Thursday. After a “Voice” lead-in, “Sean Saves the World” sets a new high in total viewers with 4.6 million.
Its former lead-in comedy, Welcome to The Family, was promptly cancelled after a few episodes and since then Sean Saves The World seems to be getting more viewers every week. That number is expected to rise even more in 2014, when Parks & Recreation will become the comedy’s new lead-in.
Sean Saves The World joins now breakout freshman drama The Blacklist, which also has received a back order, a full-season 22-episode pickup.
