See - Season 3

With the third season of the dystopian action series See, we have already come to the end of the story of the blind and those who can see.
The final season picks up a year after the blind Baba Voss (Jason Momoa, Game of Thrones) has killed his own warmongering brother Edo (Dave Bautista, What We Do In the Shadows). The war between the Payans and the Trivantians was also averted by Maghra (Hera Hilmar, Da Vinci's Demons) imprisoning her tyrannical, lying, pregnant sister Sibeth (Sylvia Hoeks, Berlin Station). Subsequently, Maghra had taken over the role of queen, hoping and expecting that she would do better and more justly. Peace had more or less returned.

Baba quietly left, but you can't really blame him

However, her husband Baba has quietly gone off. You can't really blame him for that. Besides the fact that he wants nothing to do with a royal life, Maghra had entered into a marriage of convenience with Lord Harlan (Tom Mison, Sleepy Hollow) in Baba's previous forced absence. This is something Baba had a hard time accepting. The protective Baba did not have to stay for his children either. He realized that they are now mature enough to take care of themselves.

Baba is now hiding with a good old friend of his, far away from the Payan kingdom. There he leads his life in peace, although he misses his family quite a bit. His old clan member Bow Lion (Yadira Guevara-Prip, Supernatural) tracks him down and tries to persuade Baba to return to Maghra and his children. However, their discussion is shattered when Baba, Bow Lion, and his good friend Ranger (Michael Raymond-James, Once Upon a Time) are attacked by an old acquaintance of Baba's. When Baba learns that this old acquaintance has a new kind of weapon at his disposal that can wipe out the entire population of Payan, he feels compelled to return to his family. This enemy in question, Tormada, is Edo's former chief science officer. He is played by David Hewlett (Stargate: Atlantis) and is a nice addition to this final season. Tormada deeply dislikes Baba because of the death of his boss and friend Edo, and so has set his sights on Baba and his family.

Eigenlijk is het wel een beetje jammer dat AppleTV+ besloten heeft om de serie te cancelen

This third season looks remarkably beautiful again. The action scenes, just like in the first two seasons, look great. It is clear that Apple TV + doesn't hold back the budget with a series like this. The most important new roles in the cast, those of the vengeful Tormada and Ranger, are good additions. The end of the series is, not unimportantly, also satisfying. That is not the case with many series. So, the last season of See has everything you hope for as a series lover. Actually, it is a bit of a shame that Apple TV + has decided to cancel the series. I would have loved to enjoy a few more seasons of the world that the creators of See have created. Not eleven seasons like The Walking Dead, for example, where the final season was also disappointing, but I could've enjoyed a couple more seasons. On the other hand, I'd rather have a short series that is good in comparison to something that you don't want to... uhm ... watch anymore.

In addition, Mike logically enjoys watching series and has actually been spoon-fed this from an early age. The genre doesn't matter, there is a place for everything in the otherwise busy life.

Yes, fantastic series. Original story, beautifully constructed world and, in general, great actors. With, in my opinion, an excellent Sylvia Hoeks. Her queen Kane is someone you love to hate. If this series ever comes out on disc, which is often the question with streaming series, I will definitely add it to my collection.

Once again a good series that was special. It is a great pity that the plug is also being pulled on this series.
